You can tell it is tax season here at the insurance agency. A number of existing customers are making vehicle changes and we have been receiving lots of new business quote requests for individuals that are getting a car for the first time and need insurance! So my blog today will be all about buying a new car.
We have a wealth of information in our digital insurance office - research center on buying a new car too, but I thought it would be fun to include an infographic on buying cars too.
I recently bought a new car also! In my lifetime it is the only time I have ever bought a truly NEW car. The cars I have always purchased were new to me but used from someone else's perspective. I have been very fortunate though to have had positive experiences all the way around.
I hear from people all the time about how much time they spend searching for just the right car and the numerous test drives they have taken. I made my decision to purchase a new car and bought it. No test drive. Very little shopping around. I found the car I wanted because I knew the manufacturers positive history, and decided I wanted something economical on gas, found out what the base price was for the vehicle. Contacted my local area dealer and purchased the vehicle. I am very satisfied with my purchase - that being said - I definitely recommend test driving the vehicle first though.
From an insurance standpoint, it hardly affected my premiums at all. I was worried going from an older vehicle to a newer vehicle would have a dramatic impact on my personal insurance premium, but it really didn't. There are thousands of factors that go into how much you pay for insurance. Vehicle value is just one of them. Again you can read more in our research center or in the personal insurance section of the website for more info.
Following is the infographic I found that has lots of interesting facts on buying a new car.
