More and more customers are reporting they are taking there car out of storage anticipating the warmer weather. New customers are contacting us to put their vehicle on the road before Spring arrives.
Most of my customers really take special care of their "baby" so I thought I would share the following information about what to do when you take your car or how to take your car out of winter storage. This first video is really just a minute long...because hopefully your car was stored properly and there are just a couple of things that need to be done.
Watch the first video and if you are concerned about whether or not it was stored properly..read on!
Now, if your not sure you put it away properly here is another video of how to properly store your car for the long winter. If you have questions about this process or products that are mentioned or you didn't store your vehicle properly, you should contact a qualified mechanic or auto parts store for more information. We do have a list of reputable, insured, auto repair facilities in the Oneida, Madison and Norwich NY surrounding areas if you need.
You will also want to be sure you have the proper insurance on your vehicle. If it is an antique or collector vehicle you will not want this on your standard personal auto policy. The reason is that at the time of loss on a standard personal auto policy the vehicle value is determined by using actual cash value - meaning they apply depreciation. A collector or classic vehicle policy is usually a stated amount. It is also usually much less expensive than a standard personal auto policy.
For more detailed information view our classic car page under the personal insurance section of our website.
