Independent vs Captive Agency

We changed the wording on our sign outside the Oneida NY Tanner Insurance Office.  We usually try to update it to say something about the current season something like "Stop in for a free boat insurance quote".  The sign outside now says "No Need For Fancy Ads We Have Great Prices".  

Did you know that we are an locally family owned independent agency.  Independent agency means when you call us for a quote we can shop around and find you the best coverage for the best prices with lots of different companies, like Progressive, Travelers, Erie and many more.  When you call State Farm, they can only quote you with State Farm, when you call Allstate they only quote you with  Allstate, etc.

When you call an 800 number you have to push one for this and two for that and wait on hold for who knows how long.  When you call one of our three locations or even our 800 number you get a live person.  If we are not available a live person tells you that and asks if you want to leave a message.  You are not on hold waiting for a faceless name to pick up the phone reading a script off of one of thousands of computer screens in a call center.
